This work is a pastel painting using the soft pastel medium on Pastelmat Board. My inspiration for painting this scene came from a stay in the Lost World Valley, where I spent 3 days painting plein air. We came across this restful little creek in a rural setting, framed by the majestic mountains of the Lamington Plateau. I wanted to capture the natural beauty, feeling of peace, and timelessness such a location evokes. It is a framed artwork behind glass.
